Jim was telling us about Big Burr and it is big in the pic. What a prize you have. Good luck tomorrow and hope all goes well.
Susan, Good luck Monday!!!!!!
Thank you, Mary and Sue.
Is it CT Monday????? If so, then good luck, and if something else, then good luck for that!!!!!
Why dont I read blogs properly??? you have written it is CT!!!
Best wishes today, Susan.
That Big Burr might be closer to a diameter of six feet. I just measured my outstretched arms and they're pretty close to six feet x 3 = 18 feet divided by 3.14 = 5.7 feet diameter and Jim is taller than me so probably has even more of an arm span.

Thank you, all -- I'm expecting this CT to be routine, though it's still sort of like a security blanket.
Thanks, Ed -- didn't want to overestimate it because the Peoria Journal Star just last week had a story about a five-foot burr oak. It's a wonderful tree, right on the creek edge. Have to wonder just what all this tree has seen.

Hello my dearest friend Susan!
I hope too, like all your good friends here that all went well for you in St.Louis an the CT.
You may well be home and relaxing/resting(!!!????) now.
A SUPER photo of your husband here with the BIG "burr" Oak tree Susan, what a lovely place you choose to live in, or did it choose you both?
And @MaryS this walker loves old trees too, though I don't always know the names of them, something so special about almost every tree, yes!

You may have to write about all that tree has seen. Sounds like a book to me. It's a great tree, now we need the story.
Hope all went wlee today.

Hope your test has the desired result. Do you get results the same day, or have to wait for a report?
I like the tree. Why is it called a burr oak?

We knew a fairly large oak was in the brush along the "new" trail, but didn't pay much attention -- until the leaves were down and we saw just how big a burr oak it was. Took Jim three arm-stretches around, and he's 6'3". Jim thinks it's five feet in diameter -- not as large as the Anabaptist Oak (Oct. 30 blog) -- but plenty large.
We immediately named it the not-too-creative, Big Burr. Jim's been clearing away the brush surrounding it. Today he took down the smaller tree you see immediately in front of it.
