Couple of trail walks today. Our landscaper friend ID'd the bush I posted Nov. 7. It's Euonymous americanus (I'm adding the "americanus" here, but Friend is going to check. In any case, while we were eating lunch, a whole flock -- well, 7-8 -- of bluebirds descended on the bit of Euonymous outside our patio, accompanied by some gold finches and some chickadees. They were wonderful!

Here's a second photo from DD2: twins Alex and Jill with little brother Josh>

Christy is brave, putting her kids in white.

I did our partnership proud today - not as good as you, but still admirable.

She did it specifically for her Christmas cards. Kaye, I know they're adorable :)

Mary, I lost another pound!

Very professional looking photo.  Doesn't hurt to have children who cooperate either :)  Bluebirds of happiness are always good too.

Thanks, Ed -- I'll pass the compliment on to her. The background is their red barn.

I love the expression on Jilly's face!  ;)  It is a really cute photo of all of them, Susan!

All your grandchildren are simply precious!

Cute picture.  This bush that the bluebirds like... is it a wild bush or one that you buy at a nursery??

It's wild here, Sue. Dale (our landscape friend) took a twig to check the euonymus variety. He said he didn't believe it was commercially available. But he'll let me know.

Great picture and sounds like you had a great birdwatching lunch. (All your grandchildren look so similar - all peaches and cream.)

I was just thinking yesterday as I was watching snow flakes that I need to get the bird feeders out. We will be gone most of the winter, I wonder if our grandson can get his mother to bring him by once a week to fill the feeders.

This picture is adorable. Nice children and you are very lucky been their grandmother. Was it eight all together? It seems like you have a lot of time to have them around you. Nice for them and nice for you.

I don’t really know what DD2 means. But I recons it has something to do with your children.
Nice walk too.

Congratulations on another pound lost, Susan!  I really should quit eating.

I haven't quit eating, Mary -- it's the increased stepping!

I'm with Mary!  If only I'd stop eating...

You are very fortunate, Susan!  What beautiful grandkids!

I have been bummed out all day as this is the 2nd day where the scale has gone up despite my watching what I eat and increased steps. The intelligent part of me says to just forget it and stay the course - but there is that part that says perhaps a brownie would make me feel better. Losing weight is hard.

Chris, I've been plateaued since the end of July. Crud. I've had such poor luck with dieting, I'm relying on exercise... well 'tain't working so well, either. Or mixed, I should say. I'm down a full size since last year.

Wish I had a solution for all of us. Guess we just have to keep at it and learn to be happy with small results, something I am not good at. I am also down a size since joining WT, but it has been painfully slow.

Realistically -- it went on pretty slowly, too. A pound a year for 20 years???
