Whoa! Last of the grandkids just left (6 p.m.) Don't know if I'll be able to reach my daily goal or not anymore before I turn in tonight -- but I'll give it a try.

Had great fun, though, including hot dogs over the fire with s'mores. Kids had marshmallow all over themselves, so all 7 had baths or showers before bed. This afternoon, after the youngest two went home, the others went to the creek. Guess what? They all had showers again before their parents returned. Mud, mud, mud.

Photo is of cousins Kaelin and Becca. Cuties, aren't they?

I hope they are not wearing their good school shoes!  LOL!

Cuties? Absolutely!

My hairdresser's husband ended up with a rare form of bacterial meningitis from swimming in a river by his cabin - caused by his swallowing river water with animal urine in it.  Glad the kids all had showers when they were done. You are such a good grandma.

Some of the cutest grandkids I have seen!  It looks like they are having a great time.  It is a good thing kids are 100% washable ;-)

Thank you, all. Weren't drinking this water, Mary, even inadvertently. Lots of people swim and water ski on the Illinois River, but I don't believe I could do so.

Ross, been messing with the kinds light settings in this shady area on sunny days. This one worked. I have it set for sun; but it's also a crop of a larger photo which, even with the sunny setting, had some over-exposed areas. In the larger picture, the children have a full-length reflection in the water -- but I really wanted to crop out that over-exposed section, and cropping it as a vertical left it unbalanced somehow. So here it is. Photoshop eats up a lot of hours for me :)

Mary, the Nikon is fairly easy to operate. You can use the automatic settings if you want.

There are purists who don't crop. Mary's DH has lots and lots of impressive photos with no cropping (though I don't know if he considers himself a "purist" in this. I got into the habit of cropping with my newspaper work, when photos most often had to be cropped -- usually enlarged, then cropped, therefore also a fan of high resolution digital which allows enlarging. I've barely scratched the surface of what either my camera can do or what Photoshop can do -- but I do love it. Photography gets me looking at things, noticing.

Susan, only a saint could supervise 12 showers in one day.  That has to be you!

Your photography is a gift to all of us who get to enjoy your work and take a look into another world.

Excellent steps!  :)

Cuties indeed!  And a wonderful picture, too!  Surely you could have added extra steps for all of the activity required for such a sleepover!

Wonderful picture and the girls are very cute. Both are very lovely.

Hmmm 12 showers in one day for the children. Your water bill will be very high this month. If I hear of a drought in your area, I will know who caused it. I also photoshop and crop where necessary. I thought everyone did that with digital pics.

We have our own well, here, so there's no extra water bill -- though, true, the water table may drop! :) Kaelin and Becca are my swimmers -- Becca says she's going to swim in the Olympics -- so, Susie, you just tell your Ms. Rice to watch out!

Ah the lovely stephanie Rice couldn't wait to get out and  give her dad a big hug. Tell Becca to follow her dreams, whatever they may be.
