| 2009-01-06 | 6,599 (0) | 2.7m | Weather report on the news today said we got another 8" of snow since last night. That equals a lot of shoveling! Good news is that our temperatures went up to the 30's from the low single digits.

| 2009-01-05 | 6,790 (0) | 2.8m | Lots of time running errands today in the car so not a lot of stepping =( Had a few errands left when the snow really started coming down...made the trips extra long and slippery!! My mom even called this evening and said her usual 10-15 min drive home took an hour as she was going 10mph almost the whole way.
Tonight for dinner my dd made us all omelets. Mine had ham, soy cheese, mushrooms, green peppers and red onions. It was very yummy!! Plus the added bonus was I didn't have to cook =D 2008 step total 4,426,104 2009 steps so far 0,031,341 2008 daily average 12,126 2009 daily average 06,268 |
| 2009-01-04 | 8,993 (0) | 3.7m | Friday afternoon we left for K-- for our friends wedding dinner. They had breakfast for dinner (scrambled eggs, hashbrowns, ham, sausage, bacon, french toast, fruit and juices) We got to meet the bride and her family--who were all really nice. When we went out to leave it had been snowing and we had about 6 inches and it was still coming down heavy. The freeway was a mess, cars sliding and the fastest I went was about 30mph So, we made it to B--- and got a room for the night instead of coming home.
We were to be there Saturday morning at 9:45 for the wedding. We got a phone call at 8:30 saying the wedding was being postponed as the groom was on his way to the ER for severe abdominal pains. They had called and made arrangments to change the time to 3:00. We got another phone call about 10:00 saying that the groom had a kidney stone, had been given pain meds and it should pass within 12-24 hours and that the wedding was still going to happen at 3:00. So, we just hung out in our hotel room till check out time and then we headed down to S--- and just acted like tourists till it was time for the wedding. The groom was pale and a bit loopy but still looked quite happy =) The bride of course was radiant & happy! The wedding was beautiful!! They didn't get a chance to do very many pictures since the reception was in L--- at 6:00. As it was we didn't get to L--- till almost 5:00. The reception was nice too. They had arches set up to seperate the hall in half with a gazebo type area where the line was that they stood under in their line. And of course lots of sparkling lights around. The cake was really pretty, it had fondant on it making it look like it had ribbons on it with the ends rippling down the sides. They also had a special dance. The groom danced with his mom and the bride with her dad while a lady sang Butterfly kisses. I saw quite a few eyes being wiped after they were done. We 'encouraged' dd (ie--gently pushed her over) to participate in the bridal bouquet toss--but it went to the other side (I think she was relieved!) And so then she 'encouraged' her brother to participate in the garter toss...the guy who got it actually dived for it =) After the reception (and the cleaning up) we went out to dinner with our friends and exchanged our Christmas presents with each other. We didn't get home till just after 2 a.m. and we all crashed! 2008 step total 4,426,104 2009 steps so far 0,024,551 2008 daily average 12,126 2009 daily average 06,138 |

I even gave in and took some meds, hoping they would help..nope, still feel just as crappy. That is why I don't bother taking them. Not sure if my steps are going to be any better later today--I sure hope so. This is NOT the start I wanted to a new year!!!!
Head has been hurting for so long now that I am getting sick to my stomach from the ongoing pain. I think I will head to bed early (for me) and see if I can hopefully sleep it off!!!! 2008 step total 4,426,104 2009 steps so far 0,003,289 2008 daily average 12,126 2009 daily average 03,289 |
| 2008-12-31 | 3,742 (0) | 1.5m | Spent New Years Eve at my mom's. Had dinner with her, watched videos and chatted. Nice evening, but both my back and my head were hurting--not a good step day! |

Nice walk this afternoon with ds...almost fell once on some ice but after doing a little dance I stayed upright (whew!). Nice evening with dh & ds as dd was gone with her friends till late.

We had snow again today...made the roads quite slick when we went to visit my mom, but I just took it slow and easy and we got there fine. Due to have more overnight and tomorrow! Glad we don't have anywhere to go and can just stay in =) Picture of me from this morning that dd snapped. |
| 2008-12-24 | 2,025 (0) | 0.8m | Yep, steps are lower than yesterday =( Woke up with a start...had to get to the bathroom and quick. Had the squirts and sour tummy. Stomach started hurting after about 1/2 hour so I ate some breakfast. About 2 hours later my stomach started hurting really bad. Within 3 hours I had lost my breakfast (yes, it was still in my stomach). In between I did manage to make a pumpkin pie, get the turkey in the oven for dinner and take a shower. After losing my breakfast I was feeling horrid, so dh encouraged me to go lay down and get some rest. (On top of being sick I also had my backache still and a bad headache) So, I gave my family some quick directions on what to do for dinner and went to bed. They woke me up about 5:30 (I went to bed about 2:00) and I found that they had called my mom over early (she was invited to come for dinner at 6 pm). I was feeling better and was able to come out and finish up dinner. After thanking my mom over and over again for helping out we sat down to eat. I took little bits of everything and ate slowly...good news--it all stayed down and I feel fine. So, not sure what happened this morning, but I'm glad I am feeling better. Not quite the day I had expected though!! |
| 2008-12-23 | 3,651 (0) | 1.5m | Back is still killing me! No spasms (so far) today but the pain is almost constant. Walking is slow, but I did get in some at least. Using lots of heat--it feels good. Going to try to talk ds into giving me a massage later (he's the only one who will)
Okay...final count is not good, but getting my back feeling better is more important right now! Good news is that I was spasm free today...hoping for pain free tomorrow!! Another snow picture from yesterday =) |
| 2008-12-22 | 4,962 (0) | 2.0m | Shopping today trying to get the last few things we need for Christmas. I was stopped several times with horrid back spasms. One time I was holding on to the side of dh's wheelchair sort of bent over. Ds was pushing on my back trying to massage the pain out. He was pushing hard enough that he was nearly shoving me over and yet it wasn't helping =( Last one I had in the store before we left was so painful and long lasting that it brought tears to my eyes. Luckily I didn't start crying--BUT I wanted to! I haven't had spasms this bad in about 3 years--it made me really thankful that I don't have to put up with them on a daily basis anymore.
LOTS and LOTS of snow today...this picture was taken by ds from our backyard of the river about noon today (it continued to snow till about 6 pm so we got a LOT more) |
| 2008-12-21 | 8,452 (0) | 3.5m | Breakfast...Church...lunch...made cookies...made more cookies...visit w/friends...read the paper...dinner...went to visit my mom & stayed to watch a Christmas movie with her...hot bath & a good book...internet. Think I got it all =) |
| 2008-12-20 | 11,491 (0) | 4.7m | Today is my dd's ( @MusicIsMandatory )18th birthday!! Took me almost an hour to get to the hospital 18 years ago because it was a blizzard on the day she was born (the drive is normally 10-15 minutes). We've already had snow 3 times this week and are forecast for more in the next 3-4 days!! Dejavu I suppose??
Picture of a gift I recieved from a friend. It is a 2 liter of Sprite underneath =) 10:30 p.m. DD had a good birthday today. She liked her presents (jeans & sweatshirt) and her birthday dinner (mexican out w/us & her grandma). Now she is out with friends sledding...waiting for her and ds to come home frozen and needing hot cocoa =) |
| 2008-12-19 | 13,344 (0) | 5.5m | Today was my last day of work for the year. Don't have to go back till Jan 2nd! Running errands this afternoon...while in the store doing the last one it started to snow quite heavily. By the time I got out to my car it was covered...started clearing windows and by the time I got all around the snow had started recovering the windows again!! Then while I was putting away groceries my mom showed up. So, I finished the groceries and left with her. I spent the rest of the afternoon and evening with her. We made tacos, watched some Christmas movies on Hallmark and talked. It was a fun evening!! Meanwhile dh 'supervised' dd's birthday party with her friends. They had pizza, pop and movies. I had a bad headache and knew I couldn't handle it so he had my mom 'kidnap' me for the evening (insert awww...)
Picture is my white elephant gift from the present exchange we did last night at bunco. |
