One walk to the Post Office and back, mailed Emily's Christmas present, and my manuscript to Michele.  Rest of the day at desk, this evening Tim came round - last time we will see him now till March.  He says he's never quite at ease while his parents are out of the country !  I made real chicken soup (Jewish penicillin) and lovely lemon pudding, which should keep him going.  Will restore my month's average when we get to Kuala Lumpur.

Yes, he's my lad.  The chicken soup was result of freezer and larder clearing in preparation for going away: chicken carcass boiled for stock and strained, then from bottom of fridge a leek and 2 small green peppers fried, about half a cup of lentils left in the bag needed using up, remains of a pack of frozen peas - and some chicken breast from the original chicken. But to be honest, that's just what I had - I would have put in anything which needed eating up.  Tell me about your veg soup - what do you use for stock ?

Daisy i use cartons of stock(Caldo) Spanish stock cubes are so salty, whatever soup i am making ie chicken i use the chicken caldo, and veg soup vegetable caldo, must admit they are rather good. and excellent when making gravy, have to make my own now since we cant get Oxo granules over here now.
